<RequestExample>
  ```bash cURL theme={null}
  curl -X POST "https://api.scanova.io/qr/gs1-recalls/" \
    -H "Authorization: 401f7ac837da42b97f613d789819ff93537bee6a" \
    -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
    -d '{
        "gtin": "01234567890128",
        "batch_lot_value": "LOT-2026-04",
        "message": "This batch has been recalled due to a labeling error. Contact support."
    }'
  ```
</RequestExample>

<Warning>
  Recalls are **account-wide**, not scoped to one QR Code or GS1 family. An active recall matches **any** GS1 scan whose batch/lot value matches, regardless of which specific QR Code resolved it. A too-broad `batch_lot_value` will surface the recall notice on products you didn't intend.
</Warning>

<Note>
  There is no uniqueness constraint: the same GTIN and lot can carry more than one recall over time. To end a recall, flip `is_active` to `false` with [Update a GS1 batch recall](/api-reference/management-api/qr/gs1-recall-update) — don't delete the row, so the history is preserved.
