# When your trial or subscription ends

> What the 14-day free trial includes, what happens to your QR Codes when a trial or a paid subscription ends, and how to bring the deactivated ones back.

Your QR Codes are never deleted when a trial or a paid subscription ends. They stop resolving, and they stay in your account until you subscribe again.

## What the free trial includes

The free trial runs for **14 days** and lets you create up to **3 Dynamic QR Codes**.

Static QR Codes are not part of that limit — the trial doesn't restrict them.

The trial is a good way to see how [Dynamic QR Codes](/qr-codes/create/website-url) behave in practice: editing a destination after publishing, and watching scans arrive in [Analytics](/analytics/dashboard).

## What happens when it ends

When your 14 days are up and you haven't subscribed, your Dynamic QR Codes are **deactivated**. Three things follow from that:

* A deactivated QR Code stops resolving, so anyone scanning it no longer reaches your destination
* The QR Code itself, its design, its destination, and its scan history all stay in your account
* Nothing is deleted, and you don't need to recreate anything later

**A lapsed paid subscription behaves the same way.** If a subscription ends without renewing, that account's Dynamic QR Codes are deactivated on the same terms — they stop resolving, and everything is retained.

<Warning>
  This matters most for codes you have already printed or shipped. A deactivated QR Code is still physically scannable, so the scan happens and then fails to reach anything. If a code is out in the world on packaging, signage, or business cards, plan the renewal before the end date rather than after it.
</Warning>

## Bringing your QR Codes back

Subscribe, and your deactivated QR Codes start resolving again at the destinations they already had. There's no separate reactivation step and nothing to re-enter.

See [Upgrading your plan](/billing/upgrading) for the checkout, and [Subscription & billing](/billing/subscription-and-billing) for your renewal date and auto-renewal setting.

<Note>
  Auto-renewal is what stops a paid subscription lapsing in the first place. You can check or change it from the **Renewal Details** section of [Subscription & billing](/billing/subscription-and-billing).
