# Changelog

> Customer-visible product changes to Scanova, kept up to date as features ship.

<Note>
  This is a living page — new entries are added as customer-visible changes ship. It isn't an exhaustive engineering log (internal refactors, test coverage, and CI fixes are left out on purpose); it covers changes you'd actually notice while using the product. The entries below were confirmed directly against the project's commit history at the time this page was written.

<Update label="GS1 QR codes" description="Shipped in phases through August 2026">
  Scanova added a dedicated **GS1** category to Quick Code creation — a 5-step wizard (Resolver → Identify → Data Attributes → Resolution → Review) for encoding [GS1 Digital Link](https://ref.gs1.org/standards/digital-link/) URIs for retail and supply-chain use cases. Unlike every other Quick Code type, a GS1 code can be either Dynamic or Static depending entirely on which resolver you choose in step 1.

  See [GS1 QR Code](/qr-codes/create/gs1) for the full walkthrough.

<Update label="API key expiration warning" description="August 16, 2026">
  Creating a Management API key with **Never** selected as its expiration now shows an explicit amber warning in the key-created dialog, since a non-expiring key won't rotate automatically and deserves extra care if it's ever exposed.

  See [Creating & managing API keys](/api-keys/creating-and-managing-keys) for where this appears.
</Update>

<Update label="Split billing history downloads" description="August 15, 2026">
  The **Billing History** download action was split into two distinct options — **Receipt** and **Invoice** — instead of a single combined download, matching the two different documents accounting teams typically need.

  See [Subscription & billing](/billing/subscription-and-billing#billing-history) for the Payment History table this download lives on (documented before this specific split shipped, so the two-button detail isn't shown there yet — confirmed instead directly from source for this entry).
