# FAQ

> Frequently asked questions, grounded in real product facts verified during this documentation project.

<Note>
  Scanova also has its own in-app FAQ search at [Support](/support/overview) — this page is a shorter, docs-specific set focused on questions this documentation project's own verification work actually surfaced.

## Product basics

<AccordionGroup>
  <Accordion title="What's the difference between a Quick Code and a full Page?">
    A **Quick Code** does something the instant it's scanned (open a URL, dial a number, join Wi-Fi) with no landing page at all. A **Page** renders a full, block-based landing page first. Some Quick Code types are Dynamic (editable after publishing) and some are Static (fixed forever) — the split isn't the same for every type. See [Quick Code vs. full Page](/qr-codes/create/quick-code-vs-page) for the full breakdown.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Why does GS1 work differently from every other Quick Code type?">
    GS1 is the only Quick Code category that can be either Dynamic or Static depending on which resolver you choose in step 1 of its 5-step wizard — not a separate toggle like every other type. See [GS1 QR Code](/qr-codes/create/gs1) for the full wizard walkthrough.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Can I go back to a previous version of a page, or undo a publish?">
    Not automatically within New Scanova. See [Switching from Classic to New UI](/onboarding/classic-to-new-ui) if the specific question is about moving a page's platform rather than its content history.

## Why can't I see a feature I expect on my plan?

Three separate plan-quota gaps were found and confirmed during this documentation project — if a feature below is missing for you on a paid plan, it very likely isn't just you:

<AccordionGroup>
  <Accordion title="Why can't I see the Folders sidebar?">
    The folder sidebar on the QR Codes page is gated behind a `FOLDER_MANAGEMENT` plan quota that, at verification time, was granted to exactly one plan in the entire database — an internal-only plan. See [Folders, tags & bulk operations](/qr-codes/manage/folders-tags-bulk-operations).
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Why does AI Studio show 'Upgrade' when I'm already on Pro?">
    The `AI_QR_TOKENS` quota AI Studio checks for isn't actually granted on the canonical Pro plan, despite the paywall copy describing it as a Pro feature. See [AI QR / AI Studio](/qr-codes/create/ai-qr).
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Why can't I create a Management API key on my plan?">
    Same pattern — `MANAGEMENT_API` was also found missing from the canonical Pro plan. See [Creating & managing API keys](/api-keys/creating-and-managing-keys).
  </Accordion>
</AccordionGroup>

## Notifications and support

<AccordionGroup>
  <Accordion title="Where do my in-app notifications actually show up?">
    In the bell icon in the top bar, on every dashboard page — that's a separate, real-time notification widget. The dedicated `/notifications` page also exists and works, but has no link to it anywhere in the app's navigation; it's reachable only via direct URL. See [Notifications](/notifications/overview) for the full explanation of both.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Is the Notifications page the same as my email preferences?">
    No — they're unrelated systems. [Notifications](/notifications/overview) is in-app messages; [Email preferences](/account/email-preferences) is a separate six-category toggle list controlling which transactional and marketing emails Scanova sends you.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Where can I see how much I've used my Management API key?">
    Nowhere in the dashboard UI today — verified live, this is a genuine gap, not a hidden setting. Call the usage endpoints directly instead. See [API usage dashboard](/api-keys/usage-dashboard).
  </Accordion>
</AccordionGroup>

## Account platform

<AccordionGroup>
  <Accordion title="Is switching from Classic to New Scanova (or back) reversible?">
    Switching is a one-way, account-wide action, not a per-page choice — the biggest correction this documentation project made to prior guidance. See [Switching from Classic to New UI](/onboarding/classic-to-new-ui) for exactly what is and isn't preserved.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Can any teammate switch the account between Classic and New Scanova?">
    No — only the account owner. A shared user sees a disabled button with an explanatory tooltip. See [Switching from Classic to New UI](/onboarding/classic-to-new-ui).
  </Accordion>
