The Slack integration connects a Slack workspace to your Scanova account via OAuth, then lets you build named notification rules — each one picking a set of events and the channel(s) that should hear about them.

Prerequisites

  • A Slack workspace where you (or an admin) can authorize a new app.
  • For private channels: the Scanova bot must be invited to the channel before it appears in the channel picker — public channels don’t need this.

Connecting Slack

Open the Slack integration

From Integrations, select Add Integration, then find the Slack card and select Setup. Slack opens as its own full page.

Connect a workspace

Select Connect Slack. A popup opens to Slack’s own authorization screen — choose the workspace and authorize Scanova to post messages on your behalf.

Wait for confirmation

Scanova polls for the connection to complete; once it does, the popup closes and a “Slack workspace connected successfully” toast appears, along with a banner showing the connected workspace name.

Creating a notification rule

Once connected, select Create rule to start the 3-step rule builder.

Name your rule

Give the rule a short, recognizable name.

Choose event types

Select one or more of the following events:
  • Lead Captured
  • QR Code Scan
  • Form Responses
  • QR Code Created
  • QR Code Deleted
  • Page Created
  • Page Deleted
  • Shared User Added
  • Shared User Deleted
  • Custom Domain Added
  • Custom Domain Deleted
If Lead Captured is selected, you must also choose at least one lead list to scope the rule to — otherwise every lead across the account would trigger it.

Choose channels

Search and select one or more Slack channels to receive the notifications. Use Sync channels to pull a fresh channel list directly from Slack (useful right after connecting, or after creating a new channel in Slack itself).
A private channel only shows up here after the Scanova bot has been added to it — see Slack’s own bot installation guide for how to add a bot to a channel.
Select Create rule to save it. Rules appear in a list showing the rule name, a summary of its events, and the channels it posts to; each rule can be edited or deleted individually. Once the rule list grows past one page, a search box filters by rule name, event, or channel.

Managing the connection

Disconnect (in the connected banner) removes the workspace entirely — every notification rule for it stops sending, and rules/channels are cleared from the view.

What data flows where

When a matching event occurs — a scan, a lead capture, a form response, or one of the account-management events — Scanova posts a message to every channel configured on any rule that includes that event.
  • HubSpot — another OAuth-connected integration with its own guided setup wizard.
  • Webhooks — a generic alternative for pushing the same events to your own endpoint instead of Slack.
  • Zapier — a broader automation option if you need to fan events out beyond Slack.
