Require a password before a QR Code will show its landing page, so that printed codes can front content that should not be open to absolutely everyone.
Password protection gates a Dynamic QR Code’s content behind a password prompt — anyone who scans it must enter the correct password before the destination loads. It’s a per-QR toggle, available wherever Advanced settings live: the Publish panel while creating a Dynamic QR Code, or the Settings tab of an already-published one.
This is distinct from your account login password. It’s a separate, per-QR-code password that visitors enter to view that one QR Code’s content — setting or changing it has no effect on your Scanova account credentials.
Password protection is only available on Dynamic QR Codes. Publishing a Static QR Code (like Wi-Fi or Contact Card) shows a notice instead — “Advanced settings need a Dynamic QR Code” — since Static codes have no server-side step to check a password against.
Open the QR Code and go to Settings. Under Security & Access, find Password protection — “Require a password before showing your page.”

Turn on the toggle
Switching Password protection on immediately expands a Set a password field with a Set password button and a show/hide (eye) toggle for the typed value.

Set the password
Type a password and click Set password. The field’s helper text confirms: “Visitors must enter this password before viewing the QR content.”

Once a password is set, the field’s label and helper text change to reflect that: “A password is set. Enter a new one above to replace it,” alongside an Update button. The stored password itself is never shown back — the field always starts empty, so you can only overwrite it, not reveal the current value.

Turning the toggle off at any point removes the gate — no confirmation step needed beyond the toggle itself.
The same control is available before publishing: in the Publish panel, open the Advanced tab, find Password protection under Security & Access, and turn it on the same way. It saves along with the rest of the QR Code when you click Publish.
